Personality Tests
As we grow older we are getting to know ourselves better and better. You find out more about your likes and dislikes, your strengths and you weaknesses, your good and your bad habits etcetera. However you can always learn more about yourself via a personality test.
A lot of personality tests are derived from the Myers-Briggs type indicator (MBTI). This is a psychometric test that is designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. After you have taken the test a code with four letters is the outcome. The test makes a distinction between 16 different personality types indicated as that code with four letters. Each letter represents one of these four indicators:
- Extravert (E) or Introvert (I) – indicates whether you are more focused on the outer world or on your own inner world
- Sensing (S) or Intuition (N) – do you like the information as it is presented to you, facts or are you looking ahead for more information that can be associated with other information?
- Thinking (T) or Feeling (F) – is focused on decision making. Do you make decisions on what seems reasonable, consistent and logical or do you make decisions by taking the situation into account?
- Judging (J) or Perceiving (P) – are you making judgments about the outside world or do you perceive the world as it is?
