How a Parent can help a College Student in summer to simply relax

Summer vacation may take long for a college student who solely spent time watching TV or playing computer games all day through, instead of spending their time taking career tests as one preparation for their career choices or involving jobs this summer.

Nonetheless, parents can suggest an activity for their teen to involve with throughout the season, so that their teen’s summer days will be more fruitful than nothing. They can propose interning or volunteering for a rewarding experience. Thus far, try to distinguish these conditions first by asking your teen before suggesting:

Does he/ she feels the burden of higher education demand on her/ his shoulders?

Did he/ she takes all time last semester for the academics?

Have he/ she been too busy studying and taking tools to improve his/ her schooling since?

If so, the situation may cause an extreme stress to a student’s mental and physical aspects, in such a sense, it can perhaps lead him/ her towards unhappiness, disinterestedness, or possibly drop out in the next semester school. In so doing, it is good to suggest to your teen to have fun and simply relax this summer!

Make your teen forget about jobs this summer though it is a good way to reduce student loan payment or engaging in interning or volunteering alike as helpful ways to earn valuable experience to boost their career skills. Simply give your teen a time to relax and set his/ her mind those times when he/ she was a small child, when he/ she was free from burdening responsibilities or extra engagements, because your teen deserves some time for themselves.

You can accompany your teen and try to do these things with your teen to help him/ her relax on summer:

Go to a place where you both able to relax.

Go to a spa and treat yourselves a spa treatment.

Just lie down on the beach sand and look at the sun setting.

Be at the garden and enjoy smelling the flowers’ aroma and the freshness of the air.

Your teen and you as well, as a parent somehow need time to forget your errands, work and constant goals.
